Lightfoot Family Band to perform July 7 Elm Tree Concert at Round Barn
ARCADIA – The Lightfoot Family Band will present an Elm Tree Concert at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the Arcadia Round Barn.
The folk/bluegrass/country duo from western Oklahoma is comprised of Joshua and Tove Lightfoot. Josh is an Oklahoma native from Weatherford and Tove, now an Okie by marriage, is originally from Gothenburg, Sweden. They met during the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in 2013 and have made their living with music for nearly a decade, performing at breweries, bars, restaurants, retirement homes and on street corners.
The band recently released its first album of handwritten songs, entitled “The Lightfoot Family Band – Welcome Home,” which is available on all major streaming platforms.
Elm Tree Concerts are held beneath the shade of the giant elm tree on the north side of the Round Barn, which is located six miles east of Interstate 35 on historical Route 66. The concerts are presented every week except the second Sunday of the month, when the Round Barn Rendezvous jam session is held. The 2024 Elm Tree season continues through Sept. 22. The jam sessions are year-round, as is the Saturday morning music by the Round Barn Ramblers.
